Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of an annual physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. We offer a wide range of veterinary services to keep your companions feeling their best:

Surgical Services:  Our state-of-the-art surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures. We offer a variety of soft tissue surgeries including spays and neuters. We perform orthopedic procedures including hip surgeries, patella luxation repair, cruciate ligament repair, fractures, dislocations, plating procedures, limited corrective osteotomies, and some spinal surgeries.
   
Anesthesia:  We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high-risk patients. Using the most modern equipment, the patient's vital signs are monitored during all anesthetic procedures. All patients undergoing general anesthesia receive an intravenous catheter and peri-operatvie fluid therapy. Our hopitalization ward facilitates constant post-operative patient monitoring with its open design.
    
Internal medicine:  We offer a wide range of diagnostics and treatment modalities in hospital. 
    
Radiology Services:  Our on-site, modern X-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the quick diagnosis of many disorders. We offer contrast studies of the intestinal tract, bladder and perform myelograms. 
   
Ultrasound Services:  This imaging modality allows us to view internal structures in a non-invasive way.  We offer ultrasound using the Biosound My Lab 40.  It allows us to get detailed imaging of all the major abominal structures including the liver, pancreas, adrenal glands, kidneys, intestines, spleen, and bladder.  It also has cababilities to perform ultrasounds of the heart, known as an echocardiogram.

Electrocardiography Services:  We provide ECG services on-site as well as consultations with cardiology specialists.
   
Dentistry:  Dental care is very important to our doctors and staff. We have a complete line of dental home care products in addition to our professional services. Our hospital offers oral exams and evaluations, teeth cleaning, scaling, polishing, minor and major extractions, and minor oral surgery. We have a great relationship with a veterinary dentist for cases requiring referral.

Laboratory:  Our in-house laboratory equipment and facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis and parasite testing. We also utilize commercial and university veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations. Our diagnostic equipment includes a Tonopen for glaucoma screening.
    
Permanent identification: We offer and strongly recommend microchip identification. This simple and painless procedure can be performed at any appointment.
    
Pharmacy:  We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of prescription diets. Our doctors also use compounding pharmacies for special medicines.
   
Individualized Flea Control Programs:  We develop programs for the specific needs of your pet and your own particular environmental situation. We will review with you the best ways to control fleas in your house, in your yard and on your pet.

Dietary Counseling:  We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance.
    
Behavioral Counseling:  We can provide advice regarding the correction of problems such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression.

Boarding:  We provide pet boarding as a service to our clients. All boarders receive personal attention from our caring staff. Pets may be dropped off and picked up during regular business hours Monday through Saturday. We offer indoor/outdoor runs, cages, and cat condos. All pets are fed Hill's Science Diet food unless otherwise directed. All pets boarding for 4 nights recieve a complimentary bath. Please secure boarding reservations in advance for holidays! All patients must be current on vaccines. We insist on a "flea-free" environment. Some things are best not shared!

Bathing:  Routine and therapeutic bathing services are available.

Emergency Care:  Our doctors currently take after hours emergencies for our active patients on weekends and all holidays except Christmas day. We are in a multi-doctor on-call group Monday-Friday. Please call our main line at (256) 383-2626 for instructions.
